Monday Inspiration

-I would het those shoes if I wasn't so freakishly tall. I may get them anyway and just bend down when I go through door ways.
-Can't wait till summer!
-Need to get some lace and customise some shorts.

DIY- dip dye shorts/ top

There seems to be a lot of dip dye and ombre on everything at the moment!  There is quite a few bits in topshop like these shorts here. These are so simple to make yourself, with minimal effort!  Also the are a fraction of a price and no-body will have the same as you :)

Ok so start with a pair of old jeans (or if you have shorts skip this bit). I got these for £2.99 in a charity shop, and they are clavin klein!

Cut them to whatever lengh you want, I ended up cutting mine shorter than this. Make sure you leave enough to fray.

If you want to do a t- shirt then at this point get the t-shirt ready. I used one of my dads old ones that he didnt want anymore and cut it.

This is all the equipment you will need.

I had to use bleach at this point to make my shorts lighter becuase they were such dark denim. If your jeans are a colour you are happy with then you can skip this step. Obviously with a top you do not need to do this either.

Set up the first colour of dye as instructed, it be different for whatever dye you use. Put the shorts/top into the dye up to were you want the dye to go. I left the first bit for only a few mintues so it was really faded. after that I took them both out a slight bit every 15 minutes for an hour.

Rinse shorts/top in cold water until the water runs clear.

This is what both of mine looked like after this stage. Bear in mind they are darker becuase they are wet!

Make up your second colour of dye and marvel at how pretty it looks haha

Repeat the same steps as for your first colour, but do the opposite so put the shorts/top in the dye a bit more each time. Rinse and leave to dry naturally.

TAADAHH!
So these are my finished shorts and top! I am actually really happy with the way they turned out and you don't notice any imperferctions once you are wearing them. I frayed the shorts afer to add to the effect. i will do an outfit post how i styled them later in the week. I hope some of you found this helpful, enjoy your weekend :)
